Sodium Gluconate
₹120.00
Sodium Gluconate is a water-soluble chelating agent widely used in concrete admixtures, cleaning products, water treatment, textile processing and metal surface treatment. It helps bind hard water ions, improve detergent performance and provide effective formulation support.
Sodium Gluconate is an off-white powdered compound produced by the fermentation of sugar derived from corn and beets. The resulting gluconic acid is neutralized to form sodium gluconate. It is widely used as a chelating agent and formulation additive in concrete admixtures, cleaning and detergents, water treatment, textile processing, metal surface treatment and selected food applications.
Molecular Formula: NaC₆H₁₁O₇
Alternate Names: D-Gluconic Acid, Monosodium Salt, Natriumgluconat
CAS No.: 527-07-1
Main Uses
- Concrete admixtures and set retarders
- Cleaning & detergents
- Water treatment and chelating
- Textile processing
- Metal surface treatment
- Selected food applications
How It Works
Sodium Gluconate works by chelating and preventing various free ions from participating in unwanted chemical reactions. It binds with hard water ions, helping improve the effectiveness of detergents and cleaning formulations.
Concentration & Solubility
The suggested concentration for use is 0.1–0.5%. It is readily soluble in water and partially soluble in ethanol and diethyl ether.
Formulation Method
Add Sodium Gluconate to the water phase of the formulation at approximately 25°C. Stir continuously using a propeller mixer, then add the selected surfactant phase to the solution at room temperature.
